Karla Saint Andre, MD is an Endocrinologist in Houston, Texas. She received her medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas in Tampico, Mexico. Her training included an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and a fellowship in Endocrinology at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Following the completion of her fellowship, she assumed the role of faculty within the Division of Endocrinology, Academic Institute at Houston Methodist Hospital. Her tenure spanned three years, during which she focused on providing outpatient endocrinology care in Pearland, Texas. Additionally, she actively participated in the Inpatient diabetes service at the Main Houston Methodist Hospital.
She is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Obesity Medicine. Dr. Saint Andre is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Obesity Medicine Association. Her medical interests are diabetes, obesity medicine and metabolic bone disease.
Dr. Saint Andre finds immense joy in sharing her expertise by teaching. She is a Instructor of Medicine at Methodist. She participates in delivering lectures to students and doctors at institutions including Texas A&M University School of Engineering Medicine and Rice University. She is actively involved in the education of international medical students and spends time developing the next-generation of doctors.
In her free time, Dr. Saint Andre enjoys spending time with her family, running and painting which reflect her balanced approach to life and her belief in the importance of self-care.
